Love the straps
For some reason I really like the straps on this headgear (I just find that they are surprisingly resistant which is something we do not see often in other headgear brands). That being said, this headgear does not seem to fit all shapes of heads the same way. For example, I found that students with “rounder” heads at my school were more comfortable and had a tighter fit using SparTec than I did. Review by Corina

Good protection
Very strong protection to the ears and head – I could feel how the headgear disperses the shock instead of just absorbing it. My only issue is that the back neckline does not sit too comfortably on my neck, so I could feel it unless I was in the middle of sparring. My students said that it hurt to hit the headgear, but I kind of like that aspect as it’s a different way for them to hit with better control. Review by Shane

Cool design and protective fit
It fits well and breathes wonderfully. You’re still able to clinch and work with the headgear on. Vision is great, protection is on point, and the design is slick! Definitely recommend!

Great for sparring & training
I brought this headgear to class and used it for regular sparring, which it does fantastic in, but what was more impressive was how well it worked for my muay thai kickboxing sparring & training! It was not obstructive and felt a lot more comfortable than the other gear I own, allowing me to move around and spar at my best. Review by Angela

TESTING EQUIPMENT

Impact tested on the only equipment of its kind in the U.S. Based on the criteria outlined in the ASTM standard specification for protective headgear used in martial arts (Designation F-2397-04), Macho tested the SparTec Headgear using the high-speed swing arm test in Macho’s product testing facility.

TESTING RESULTS

Test results are for high-impact strikes to the side of the head at a velocity of 8 m/s. The lower the number, the more impact is dispersed. Macho SparTec proved to be the safest molded headgear.

STRIKE ZONES TESTED

Testing was conducted to all three critical strike zones of the head – the front, side and back. In accordance with the standard, Macho SparTec was tested at both high-heat and ambient temperatures.
